Family Division Resources

The Family Division has several resources available to you through the federal Court Improvement Project.  Please contact the Family Division at 207-287-7060 for more information or to request copies of any of the materials.

What is Happening in Mya's Family?  An Answer and Activity Book for Maine Children

     

  • What is Happening in Mya's Family? is a book designed for children up to age 11 who are the subject of a child protection case.  It is designed to facilitate dialouge between a child and his or her guardian ad litem.

Information and Scheduling Book for Parents

  • The Information and Scheduling Books for Parents are calendars that contain information relevant to a child protection case.  The calendars are made of sturdy card stock so that parents can use them as an organization and information tool that can be taken along to appointments and court dates. 

Kendra's Story:  Some Questions and Answers about Child Protection in the State of Maine

     

  • Kendra's Story is an 18-minute DVD narrated by a former youth in care.  The story follows Kendra as she meets with her caseworker, her guardian ad litem and a district court judge.  DVDs are available from the Family Division at 207-287-7060
